Antony Starr, who plays Homelander in the TV show “The Boys,” has poked fun at fans who think he’s similar to his character in real life.
Starr told a magazine that he finds it odd when people are surprised he’s not like Homelander. He said, “He’s a bad guy who only cares about himself. So thanks for thinking I’m like that.”
The actor also said that some people on set would run away from him when he was in his Homelander costume. To show he’s different from Homelander, Starr wears dark glasses in interviews to hide his blue eyes and shaves his head after filming.
This isn’t the first time Starr has talked about fans who like Homelander too much. In May, he said these fans “don’t get” what Homelander is really about.
Even the show’s creator, Eric Kripke, is confused by people who think Homelander is a good guy. He said, “If you think Homelander’s a hero, I don’t know what to tell you.”
The first four episodes of the new season of “The Boys” are now available to watch online.
